Fantasy and betting-focused sports media company Betsperts Group has acquired Fantasy National, targeting the growing golf betting community.
Fantasy National, which runs on a paid membership model, offers customizable golf data sets geared towards daily fantasy players and bettors. Financial details of the deal were not disclosed.
Betsperts previously launched Betsperts Golf with Paige Spiranac in 2022, offering original content, podcasts and its own set of tools. At the beginning of the year, Betsperts released a new tool for analyzing PGA Tour results called “The Rabbit Hole.” Betsperts CEO Reid Rooney said the company will continue overseeing both products, with plans to draw from their distinct datasets, histories, and userbases. Combined, Betsperts expects to see seven figures in 2026 revenue from its golf vertical.
As part of the transaction, Fantasy National co-founder Pat Mayo will join Betsperts, contributing content and promotional efforts for golf and other sports.
“Golf is an important piece of the business that has grown 50% each of the last two years,” Rooney said in an interview. “I’ve been blown away by the consumption of the tools.”
In 2021, Betsperts acquired the Fantasy Life app. It later added fantasy football information services 4for4 and Dynasty League Football as well as media outlet Bleacher Nation. HBSE Ventures and Verance Capital led Betsperts’ $6 million Series A funding round in 2021. Other investors include Kevin Durant, Chris Paul, Kyle Busch and Richard Jefferson.
Rooney said the company achieved profitability in 2024 and is now in a renewed expansion mode. Betsperts has received more than $1.5 million committed in an ongoing fundraising round as it plans to increase marketing spend for its golf properties, as well as a new betting-focused subscription on 4for4 and a new daily fantasy sports game within Bleacher Nation Fantasy’s platform.
While golf trails football and marquee college sports in popularity among bettors, handle has grown in recent years, driven by casual gamblers intrigued by long-shot opportunities—particularly around the majors—and diehards who appreciate the game’s immense amount of data and varied betting formats, as well as its nearly year-round calendar. The PGA Tour has also integrated betting data as part of its digital coverage of tournaments.
